Mental Health First Aid: Essentials - In-Person
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA): Essentials equips participants with foundational knowledge and skills to recognize changes in mental health, respond supportively, and take practical actions in challenging situations. Less intensive than the full certification course, it introduces key concepts to help participants become more confident, aware, and comfortable supporting their own and others’ mental wellbeing.
Learning outcomes include:
- Recognizing signs of mental health changes
- Responding supportively to mental health challenges
- Applying introductory strategies for crisis situations
- Increased confidence in promoting mental health at work and home
- Managing emotional responses in challenging situations
Method of Instruction
This 7.5-hour, in-person course is fully facilitator-led. Participants engage in interactive discussions, practical activities, and independent reflection, creating a balanced learning experience that builds foundational skills while encouraging personal application.
MHFA Essentials does not lead to an official certification for participants.
